The way we raise and spend our taxes tells us a lot about what our country has become.

Why do working people pay their taxes, while the rich and corporations get huge tax breaks?

Why are we cutting medical research, Head Start, housing, food stamps and unemployment insurance -- while we spend more on the Pentagon than the next 10 countries combined?

Why is there no national jobs program -- when there are still more than 10 million unemployed and our state plans to spend $2 billion on new prisons?

Why can energy companies pollute the atmosphere and destroy the climate, but there is no price for emitting carbon?

We need a Budget for All!

“Out beyond ideas of rightdoing and wrongdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”

Keeping the biggest possible picture in mind, paradoxically, may give us the best lens through which to focus clearly upon the messy details of our lives at every level—internationally, nationally, locally, even personally.

How big a picture? Try: the whole earth and everything and everyone on it, through hundreds of millions of years of time.

War = Climate Change = War = Climate Change... Time to Break the Cycle!

[UJP has signed on to this statement by Climate SOS - Ed.]

There can be no solution to the climate crisis and no “climate justice” so long as the US military and its allies continue to pollute unabated, and to squander lives and resources. Likewise, there will be no end to war so long as global warming continues to accelerate. It’s time to break the cycle and end the death spiral!

Please join us in Cancun and beyond: “System Change” means No to War and No to Warming.
