Mass Peace Action Annual Meeting

Now is the time to demand an end to militarism and a turn towards peace.  At our 2019 annual meeting, we will present MAPA's program plan for members' approval, hear from our keynote speaker, discuss how to take action in small breakout groups, elect board members, and hear a financial report.

Amidst more crises than we can count, and as we move into an increasingly confrontational and uncertain period in the wake of the Post-Cold War era, we are excited to announce an international peace movement building conference, April 2 in Washington, D.C.

The conference, featuring critical U.S., Russian, European and U.S. analysts and activists, will be held two days before NATO audaciously celebrates its 70th anniversary on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination and his “Beyond Vietnam” speech.

November’s event which had cancelled due to snow was to be a Special Feature with Pat Scanlon, banjo player, singer/song/writer and a story goes with it story-teller. We have him penciled in for March. We are looking for features (about one-half hour) or min-features (fifteen minutes) for February-contact us

April 4, 2019, will mark the 51st anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the internationally revered leader in struggles against racism, poverty and war.

And yet, in a grotesque desecration of Rev. King’s lifelong dedication to peace, this is the date that the military leaders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have chosen to celebrate NATO’s 70th anniversary by holding its annual summit meeting in Washington, D.C.
