When: Saturday, January 11, 2020, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Where: Community Church of Boston • 565 Boylston Street • 2nd fl. • Boston

HERE WE ARE, one hundred years later, looking back on our history, and looking forward into our second century. Join us for Samodivi, the finest music Berklee has to offer, food, birthday cake, reminiscences, toasts to our glorious past, and toasts to our glorious future. Creative Mischief for Social Justice, A Free Pulpit in Action, A Peace and Justice Congregation since 1920…that’s what we are. Join us to kickoff our year of commemoration, celebration and inspiration!

The music of Samodivi is inspired by the haunting beauty and rhythmic intricacies of Balkan musical traditions and modern interpretation of old folk songs. The ensemble: Bulgarian-born founder and composer Vessela Stoyanova on marimba, vibraphone, and the Marimba Lumina. Instrumentation ranges from the qanun, clarinet, fiddle, to a string quartet, and on occasion a full Balkan brass band. Burcu Gulec on vocals.
