Challenging the US Military as a way to Challenge Patriarchy in this #MeToo Moment

Dr. Cynthia Enloe will speak at the WILPF annual speaker retreat; she is a feminist writer, theorist, and professor.  For women who want to make change for women on many issues, check out her words and research.  Her newest book is The Big Push: Exposing and Challenging the Persistence of Patriarchy.  Chapter 6 gives insights regarding how the military industrial complex needs women to continue their work.        

Dr. Enloe is best known for her work on gender and militarism and for her contributions to the field of feminist international relations. She is a Research Professor at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her other books include “Globalization and Militarism: Feminists Make the Link” and “Seriously! Investigating Crashes and Crises as if Women Mattered”.    Cost: $10.
