When: Monday, March 23, 2015, 7:00 am to 9:00 am
Where: Boston City Hall • Piemonte Rm • Boston

Please join Councillor Charles Yancey on Monday, March 23rd at 10:00 am to hear a presentation about the annual “Walk for Peace” held in the Piemonte room of Boston City Hall, with Sister Claire and friends from the New England Peace Pagoda. The Peace Pagoda was conceived as a prayer for peace, a tangible structure that manifests the dedication of our lives to justice and peace.

This year is their 14th Annual Walk for a New Spring – Walking for Peace. They would be delighted to have you join them for a short time to hear about their quest and journey.

Then, we will walk from Boston City Hall to the State House followed by a gathering at the State House with city councilors and legislators.

“In the 70th year of the nuclear age, possession of nuclear weapons does not prevent international disputes from occurring, but it makes conflicts more dangerous” Ban Ki Moon, UN Secretary General

Walk for a new SpringThe 2015 Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty Convention is meeting at the United Nations on April 27 to continue talks regarding the banning and elimination of more than 17,000 nuclear warheads worldwide.

The US is spending more than $30 Billion yearly to maintain our nuclear arsenal, which we must never use, while 1 in 30 children in America are homeless.

Please join us as a walker or host in your community as we move together to change the paradigm, embrace the children and preserve the planet.
