Video Storytelling: Not as Daunting as it Seems

When: Tuesday, May 19, 2015, 6:30 am to 8:30 am
Where: TSNE NonProfit Center • 89 South Street • Boston 02111

Nonprofits know they need to create video, but too often they are at a loss when it comes to planning, production, and promotion. According to a study done by Google, 57% of people who watch nonprofit videos go on to make a donation. However, many nonprofits do not have a viable, sustainable video strategy.

Whether you want to use video to help raise money, recruit staff and volunteers, or educate your audience about key issues, it all comes down to storytelling strategy. In this interactive session, Rachel from Reflection Films will share key steps to consider when crafting your organization's story, including some pitfalls to avoid. She'll share some video examples. She encourages participants to come ready to share their experiences as well. The focus of this conversation will be on storytelling ideas and how to integrate videos into your existing marketing and fundraising plans, not on the technical aspects of video production.

Target audience: This workshop is for Marketing, Communications and Development staff, whether you have done video before or not. We will focus on thinking about your strategy of integrating video into your communications plan.
