Budget for All Update

Dear Budget for All organizers,

Yard signs and rally signs came in this week!   They look great and are going fast, so if you'd like some for your town, be sure to speak up ASAP!  We're asking a donation of $3.50 for yard signs (if available - only a few left) and $1 for rally signs (coated paper, 18x24).  Below, B4A supporters at Somerville's HONK Festival yesterday.

Matthew HohWhen President Obama announced in December 2009 that he would escalate the Afghanistan war by sending 30,000 additional troops, he promised the American people that troop withdrawals would start in July 2011.   More recently, he said in Lisbon in November 2010 that the war will be turned over to Afghans by the end of 2014.

Boston joins a nationwide series of Brown Bag Lunch Vigils on the theme, "Healthcare Not Warfare",  sponsored by Progressive Democrats of America.   We will carry signs "Stop the Afghanistan War" and "Bring the Troops Home".   We plan to continue this vigil every month on the third Wednesday.

The folly of the Obama Administration’s war policy in Afghanistan becomes clearer every day.

After a huge month-long operation secured U.S. control of the Marjah area, the lies underlying that plan were revealed. Marjah is a rural area, not a “city of 80,000” people as the mainstream media repeated endlessly. ;"The campaign's goals are to convince Americans that a new era has arrived in the eight-year-long war,  the Washington Post reported, as well as to gain the confidence of Afghans.

March 20 peace march

Peace activists will hold a march and rally in Washington March 20 targeting the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, occupation of Palestine, and calling for reparations for Haiti.   They will call for money to be directed for jobs, healthcare and education.
