former Green finance minister Yanis Varoufakis“IS CAPITALISM DEVOURING DEMOCRACY?”

When: Wednesday, May 9, 2018, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: First Parish Cambridge • 3 Church Street • Cambridge

Provocative, controversial and anti-establishment? Yes. Boring? No. Yanis Varoufakis, the celebrated Greek economist and author of several books draws on ancient myth, modern culture and personal experience to explore the nature and significance of capitalism in his latest book, “Talking to my Daughter about the Economy”.

Varoufakis, who recently launched a new Greek party, MeRA25, believes that global economics can never be apolitical and says he wants to see Europe “democratized, not disintegrated”.  Come and meet the “erratic Marxist”, the man behind the paradoxes who might become the next Greek prime minister. A book-signing follows the presentation.

This event is free and open to all.
