Walk for Water 5K In Support of Palestinian Rights

When: Saturday, April 28, 2018, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Where: Cambridge near Kendall Square • details forthcoming) • Cambridge

 is delighted to announce that our third annual Walk for Water 5K in Support of Palestinian Refugees will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018.  We hope that you will be able to join us again this year. Your participation in our walks over the last two years has been directly responsible for these wonderful projects and more:

·       Building a cistern that has allowed our programs at Lajee Center to run uninterrupted despite water scarcity;

·       Making two down payments for an early childhood education center that will also be supported by the cistern;

·       Designing, building, and sustaining 14 rooftop gardens that have inspired an outside donation of 30 additional rooftop gardens that we help to maintain;

·       Running three clinics and focus groups with local health professionals & doctors from the US to assess the health needs of residents;

·       Supporting water & science education in Aida Refugee Camp through the Environment Unit and growing it to other locations.

Our goal this year is to raise funds to build on our successes. Our third annual Walk for Water 5K will sustain our thriving rooftop gardens and growing Environment Unit, establish a community health worker program, continue to develop our preschool, and extend our water and environmental education projects to new locations.

We invite you to participate in 2018 in any way that you can! You can walk as an individual or form a team, or you can support someone else who will be walking. If you are part of an organization or business that can sponsor the walk, that would be wonderful too—email me for more details. In these times of great uncertainty, solidarity is more crucial than ever.

Sign up to walk in 1for3’s Walk for Water 5K in Support of Palestinian Refugees.
