Demonstrate to Support the People of Gaza

When: Monday, August 14, 2017, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Boston Public Library • Copley Square • Boston
NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO MONDAY, AUGUST 14

Come join a powerful demonstration to shine light in support of the people of Gaza.

Israel's decade-long blockade denies people in Gaza access to nearly every aspect of a normal, decent life, from food and medicine to building supplies and electricity. Now the denial of electricity to Gaza has reached a critical point. On average, homes in Gaza have electricity for 2-4 hours daily and last week, for the first time, an entire 24-hour period passed without any electricity at all. The consequences of the denial of electricity to Gaza are deadly. But since bombs are not falling daily (for now), most of the the U.S. media is ignoring this unbelievable crisis.
Join us as we read poems, sing, hear from people from Gaza, and gather signatures on a petition demanding the NYT and WaPo end the media blackout on Gaza.
Please also sign this AFSC petition to Congress to end the blockade:  https://www.afsc.org/action/call-congress-end-blockade-gaza"
