A talk by Shweta Narayan
(Researcher and Environmental Justice activist from Tamil Nadu, India)
 
The talk will present a view of industrial pollution in India and will highlight the case of mercury exposure of workers in the region of Kodaikanal,Tamil Nadu. March 7th marks the 12th year of the struggle of the workers in Kodaikanal – on this note the talk will also feature on how toxic contamination is perceived in India.
 
Shweta Narayan coordinates the Community Environmental Monitoring (CEM) program for The Other Media and has been a campaign volunteer seeking justice for the survivors of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy since 2002.
