Dear Budget for All organizers,
Yard signs and rally signs came in this week! They look great and are going fast, so if you'd like some for your town, be sure to speak up ASAP! We're asking a donation of $3.50 for yard signs (if available - only a few left) and $1 for rally signs (coated paper, 18x24). Below, B4A supporters at Somerville's HONK Festival yesterday.
Legislative Endorsements are piling up! This week Senators Sonia Chang-Diaz, Tom McGee, and Sal DiDomenico and Representatives Denise Provost, Frank Smizik, Linda Dorcena Forry, Timothy Toomey, Marty Walz, and Jason Lewis announced their support for the Budget for All; the complete list is at www.budget4allmass.org/supporters. Please call your legislator’s office and ask him or her to sign on, and if you can, come down to the State House this Thursday at 11am to visit more legislators. Meet in the 4th Floor cafeteria in the State House. Contact: Laurie Taymor-Berry, laurietaymorberry@yahoo.com, (617) 491-1318, or Bette Keva, bettekeva@yahoo.com, 781-576-0279.
Welcome to the UNITE HERE New England Joint Board, the Massachusetts Nurses Association, Doctors for Global Health, the First Parish Church in Bridgewater Social Justice Committee, and the Ward 15 Democratic Committee, Boston, who signed on this week as sponsors of the Budget for All. See the full list of sponsors at www.budget4allmass.org/sponsors. Ask organizations and faith groups you know to get on board!
It’s only 4 short weeks until election day, November 6, when one million Massachusetts voters will decide on the Budget for All Referendum! We have a lot of work to do before then – our job is to get the word out so that each of those voters knows about the Referendum before entering the voting booth.
Can you send an article or write a letter to your local newspaper? Contact Paul Shannon, pshannon@afsc.org, 617 623 5288, for information on how to get press coverage in your town. Check out budget4allmass.org/press for more information.
Plan for Election Day! Prepare now to take the day off from work so you can cover the polls, and try to find more volunteers to help. The heaviest times will be from 7-9am and 4-8pm. We’ll post the rally signs near the polls and hand out special palm cards on Election Day. More info:budget4allmass.org/election-day.
It’s time to start handing out flyers widely to let voters know the Budget for All is coming. Several flyer designs are available at budget4allmass.org/materials, print or adapt them with local information.
Northampton Forum: Rep. Jim McGovern and State Reps. Ellen Story and Peter Kocot will speak on the Budget for All on Monday, October 15, 7pm at Northampton High School. http://www.facebook.com/events/428369423893085/

Peace Action Education Fund, 11 Garden St, Cambridge, MA 02138, or to any of the participating organizations. Be sure to write "Budget for All" on your check.
