EXPOSE AIPAC will holding a three-day event of education and protest during the AIPAC National Summit occurring October 13-15 in Boston.
As the Expose AIPAC website says, the summit is being convened in order to “expose the corrupt practices of the political lobby American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the broader Israel lobby of which it is a part.” There will be:
- A people’s forum on Saturday from 3:45-7:00 at the Palestine Cultural Center for Peace
- A 1 pm PROTEST (gathering at 12 pm to dress up for the protest) on Sunday ( Boston’s Seafront District — Boston Seaport Hotel)
- A DAY OF ACTION starting at 12 pm on Monday (Seaport Hotel).
Please check the EXPOSE AIPAC website for details: http://exposeaipac.wordpress.com/ and information about AIPAC.
Please come to any and all of the activities and bring friends!
We need to stand up to AIPAC’s insidious role in shaping U.S. Israeli policy.
We will convene a speaker’s forum for a panel discussion and open debate about AIPAC’s involvement in our government’s domestic and foreign policies.
Panel Speakers will include: Jamal Abdi, Denise Provost, Kristen Szremski and Stephen Walt.
Dinner and refreshments will be served.
The Palestine Cultural Center for Peace is located at 41 Quint Ave., Boston in the neighborhood of Allston. It can be reached via the Green Line (at Harvard Ave. stop on the “B” line in the direction of Boston College) or by Bus (the “66” from Harvard Square or Dudley Station OR “57” from Kenmore Station or Brighton). About the Speakers
Jamal Abdi is Policy Director for the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and directs NIAC’s efforts to monitor policies and legislation, and to educate and advocate on behalf of the Iranian community. Abdi previously served as Policy Advisor to U.S. Representative Brian Baird (D-WA) who was a consistent voice of opposition to war with Iran and an outspoken critic of Israel’s siege of Gaza while in office. Abdi has written for the New York Times, Foreign Policy, The Progressive, and also blogs at The Huffington Post. He is a frequent guest contributor in print, radio, and television, including appearances on Al-Jazeera, NPR, and BBC radio.
Denise Provost is the Democratic State Representative for the 27th Middlesex District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She is an award-winning journalist, spending more than 20 years as an investigative reporter and editor.
