Join us for a rally at the Hyatt Regency Downtown, one of the three Boston-area hotels who fired long-term housekeeping staff and replaced them with subcontracted jobs.
WHY BOYCOTT HYATT?
Hyatt has singled itself out as the worst employer in the hotel industry. Hyatt has abused its housekeepers and other hotel workers, replacing longtime employees with minimum wage temporary workers and imposing dangerous workloads on those who remain. In response, Hyatt workers have taken bold steps to end mistreatment, speaking publicly about abuses, going on strike, and even launching a global boycott of Hyatt. Now thousands of community supporters are joining Hyatt workers in a call to boycott Hyatt. By choosing to not eat, meet or sleep at Hyatt, you send a clear message to Hyatt that its abuse and exploitation of hotel workers will not be tolerated.
Top Four Reasons to Boycott Hyatt
- Hyatt’s subcontracting is destroying good jobs and exploiting immigrant workers. Here in Bostonand Cambridge, Hyatt fired 100 full-time housekeeping staff and replacing them with subcontracted workers making minimum wage.
- Hyatt housekeepers suffer abuse.
- Hyatt has refused to remain neutral as non-union hotel workers organize.
- Hyatt turned heat lamps on striking workers during a brutal heat wave.
