The Controversy over Natural Gas Fracking

Is the maintenance of our current American way of life worth the destruction of our environment?  We will show the film “GasLand,” an Oscar nominated documentary about the environmental costs of natural gas fracking (the extraction of gas and other energy resources from shale deposits in the ground.)

Huge deposits of this gas can make America independent of foreign oil in the future, but the process in terms of water, chemicals, pollutants, transportation and disposal incurs huge environmental costs. What shall we do?
