1. New member group: The proposal was made to approve Code Pink as the newest peace and justice organization to join UJP. After a brief presentation by Sarah, there was discussion and unanimous agreement to welcome Code Pink.
We also endorsed the International Women's Day event to be held Sunday, March 7.
2. Financial Guidelines -- Duncan presented a revised version of the proposed guidelines sent out in November. After some discussion and further wording changes, the financial guidelines were approved pending final agreement on exact wording. Duncan will submit the final draft to the PG listserve.
3. Feb. 13 strategy meeting. This meeting was mostly quite successful; discussion led to the adoption of the following proposal: major political discussion, especially where there are differences, will occur first in the Planning Group which will decide how things will be handled in larger meetings. To implement this, it will be necessary to hear reports from every working group and committee at least once every three months, so that issues can be aired prior to the quarterly strategy meeting. Cole and Ann are preparing a schedule of committee reports.
4. Endorsement policy: Paul read a list of issues concerning endorsements and some others were added. Paul and Duncan will prepare a draft endorsement policy, hopefully for the next meeting.
