The Time to Act is Now!
Namaste and Greetings to the Environmental Movement and the Peace Movement
Namaste, Salam, Shalom, Pace
The world was turned topsy-turvey. What would you have done if you were the President of the United States? We know what President Bush did after 9/11/01. What would Al Gore have done if he had been president?
The world is waiting for something good to happen. What if people unified for a common goal? If there was a world-wide unity campaign, would it change the political status everywhere? What could be the unifying component? To answer these questions I evoke the name of Robert Kennedy.
Howard, Randall, and Elise are gone now, but I can still hear them. They would say, stand up and be heard! Zinn and Forsberg would say to mobilize. Boulding would say work together. The economic, political, peace and environmental problems facing the planet now are enormous and there must be unity to resolve the problems. We need leaders whom can find the way to unify the world. But what can unify the world?
Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream that was supported by a movement of nonviolence. I would humbly like to propose that if women promote a movement of nonviolence, you will set in motion a movement that will capture the world’s attention.
